Heat a tawa and place the ottada (along with the banana leaf) on it. Flip over to cook the other side. When both the sides are nicely cooked, take off from heat and serve it hot. Remove the banana leaf and enjoy!!!

  1. Take lemon sized dough and keep it on the center of the banana leaf. Spread it with your fingertips. Dip the finger in water in between, this will make the flattening easier.
  2. Spread the coconut jaggery mix on top of the dough.
  3. Fold the leaf and seal well.
  4. Heat a pan, once it is really hot keep the Ottada.
  5. Once the side is cooked – when the color of banana leaf will be changed to dark brown and banana leaves separates from the dough- flip it into the other side and wait for the same.

Take wheat powder in a bowl and then add salt and mix well; Add grated coconut, onion, Coriander leaves, and fennel seeds and mix well again; Add ½ cup water first and then mix well, later add remaining water and mix properly to make thick batter Please note this process is done to soften banana. Now take jaggery in a pan and water and melt and make a syrup ; Take big pot add wheat flour, grated coconut,coconut slice,cardamom powder,salt, cooked banana and jaggery syrup mix all these ingredients nicely and make a soft dough. Take banana leaf washed properly and wiped dry This whole wheat banana cakes can be given to toddlers after one year.
